1. How
do you ensure that your course materials are current?
We carry out
annual reviews of our course materials and update them
according to latest research, legal and professional
developments.
2. What
information will we receive about the course?
We provide pre
course information including the
programme, aims and learning outcomes, how to let us know
about any special needs participants may have, plus guidance
on attire, pre course reading etc.
3. Do
you provide training materials for course participants to
take away with them?
Comprehensive,
professionally printed course handbooks for each participant
are included in our fees. We also supply
detailed records of the topics covered for each participant
and separate ones for their managers.
4. Are
your courses accredited?
Both our
foundation level and trainers courses are accredited by IOSH
(Institution for Occupational Safety and Health)
5. Can
you travel to our training venue or do you have a training
facility?
We can deliver
training throughout the UK and also have our own purpose
built training rooms in Ilkeston, Derbyshire
6. What
if there is a problem before, during or after training?
We will do our
best to resolve any problems with sensitivity and urgency. HME trainers have procedures to follow in such
eventualities and will fully cooperate with your
organisations grievance procedure if that becomes
necessary.
7. We
have a mixed staff group. Can you tailor the course to meet
all participants needs?
All of our
trainers are highly experienced in meeting different needs
within groups.
8. My
staff sit at computers all day. Do they need manual handling
training?
Everyone
handles loads so courses that are tailored to office manual
handling are needed for these staff. We strongly recommend
that this training is combined with postural awareness
training for those who use computers regularly.
9. How
often should my staff receive manual handling training?
For staff who
are assisting people to move professional guidelines
recommend annual refresher courses
10.
How many staff can be trained on one course?
This will vary
according to the type of course and previous training.
Professional guidelines recommend a ratio of 6 learners to
1 trainer for new care workers. This is to ensure safe
supervision of the practical elements of the training. |
