This
one day comprehensive course has been specifically designed
with fire officers to provide managers and supervisors with
the knowledge and skills they need to ensure compliance with
the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It is
particularly relevant to those employed in:

Care homes
-
Public sector services
-
Private care agencies
This is a practical course during which
participants will be invited to carry out risk assessments
and devise an emergency plan. There will be opportunities
to see a range of evacuation equipment and to practise a
number of evacuation techniques.
Between them the
Fire
Regulations and
Management of
Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992 (as amended)
require managers/supervisors of care services to
be able to:

Carry out a fire risk assessment of their workplace
-
Identify significant findings of the risk assessment and
details of anyone who may be especially at risk in case
of fire
-
Provide and maintain such fire precautions as are
necessary to safeguard those who use the workplace
-
Provide information, instruction and training to
employees about the fire precautions in their workplace.
