This programme is
intended for the following areas (e.g. Admin, Catering,
Nursing Homes, Residential etc) however, it may suit any
services where, during a fire incident, both staff and
clients / service users would evacuate to outside the
building. Each area should have a minimum of two trained
Fire Wardens per floor and more if an area would take longer
than one minute for the Fire Warden to clear. Fire Wardens
have two main roles: Proactive Vigilance and Reactive
Response.
Their duties Include

Daily / weekly fire safety checks in the work area

Fire alarm / emergency lighting tests and record keeping
in the Fire Log Book (where appropriate)

Helping those on the premises to leave
-
Sweeping the premises to ensure everyone has evacuated
-
Using fire fighting equipment if it is safe to do so

Liaising with the Fire & Rescue Service on arrival
-
Controlling the assembly point and access by supervising
in fire situations

Supporting the Fire Control Officer (where appropriate)
