Duration - 1 day

This course has been designed to assist those who have successfully completed the IOSH Approved Manual Handling Trainers Course - Assisting People to Move to update and refresh their skills. Maintaining skills in this way will assist them to undertake the IOSH recertification course which is required every 3 years to maintain the qualification.  It will also assist Manual Handling Trainers and Back Care Advisors to demonstrate efforts made to keep abreast of developments in this field as required by the National Back Exchange.

Course includes:

• Update on legal and professional standards
• Opportunities to practise and critically evaluate the application of the key principles for safer manual handling in a range of situations
• Opportunities to practise training and presentation skills
• A review of your own practice and that of others
• Exploration of specific handling difficulties

Practical activities covered can be tailored to particular services (e.g. hospitals, schools, social care).
