In any care environment, manual handling will be an essential part of your team’s every day activities. Making sure it’s all done correctly is essential to providing the best standard of care for your clients, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of your team.

When manual handling isn’t done properly, it can all-too-easily lead to accidents and injuries – both for your employees and for your clients. Not only can this lead to staff absences, it can also lead to insurance claims and legal costs.

We’ve designed, developed and tested a range of manual handling assessment and audit tools to help you identify risks, and the training you’ll need to best deal with them. Our audit tools are compatible with HSE and professional guidelines, as well as the All Wales Manual Handling Training Passport and Information Scheme.

Our Audit Tools

Management Systems Audit

Based on HSG65: Managing for Health and Safety. This audit looks at the five essential steps in successful health and safety management: policy, organisation, planning, monitoring and review.

Observational Audit for Patient and Client Transfers

We undertake an on-site observation audit of the moving and handling methods used by your team during patient and client transfers, identifying any skills or knowledge gaps present.

Training Audits

This audit is designed to evaluate your training delivery, considering pre-training preparation, trainer specification, training venues and equipment, training content, methodologies, and post-training follow-ups. We also offer a free training needs analysis.
